HIA Annual Business Trade Show & Conference
The
Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA) held a Trade Show
and Conference at the Suffolk Community College Sports & Exhibition
Complex in Brentwood with day-long activities including
an executive breakfast with speaker and behavior analyst
Brian Parsley, assorted business seminars and an executive
luncheon with a panel of Long Island leaders discussing “Long
Island, Present and Future, What Will the Next 20 Years
Bring?”
An afternoon
seminar, “Green Is The New Red White &?Blue,” spearheaded
by David Winchester, was moderated by Sarah Lansdale, executive
director, AICP, of Sustainable Long Island. Among the expert
panelists were: Robert Catell, chairman, National Grid,
U.S., co-chair, Advance Energy Research and Technology
Center (AERTC), chairperson, Long Island Association; Dr.
Ralph James, program manager, senior scientist, Brookhaven
National Laboratory; Michael Deering, vice president for
Environmental Affairs, Long Island Power Authority; Gary
Fromer, CEO, ConsumerPowerline and Carol Murphy, executive
director, Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY).
Ms. Murphy also serves on the Governor's Task Force on

The
growing green movement on Long Island and New York State
is promoting awareness and encouraging action to capitalize
